美國廣播公司報導，之前 在佛羅里達州當歌手、現年59歲的拉斯汀（Richard Lusting），在「學習如何提高贏得樂透的機會」（Learn How to Increase Your Chances of Winning the Lottery，暫譯）一書中說，許多人花一塊錢買彩券，贏了10塊後就收手，這是錯誤方法。如果你贏得10塊，應該再去買11塊的彩券，「因為就算輸 了，你也只輸1塊。」他說：「我總是用樂透贏來的錢去買彩券。」這招讓他在2002年贏得超過84萬2000美元（約台幣2589萬元）的大獎。
